The test for unit 9 will be 27 March 2008. The only new material the students will be responsible for relates to number sequencing and patterns.

What is the 8th number in the sequence?
2, 4, 6, 8, 10,
Unit 10 will be tested on 3 April 2008.
Unit 11 will be tested on 14 April 2008.

This Week in Math 3 March- 4 March 2008
This week we will continue to study Volume.
Your student should be able to find the volume of a rectangular prism. There are two formulas they can use: V=lwh (Length times Width times Height) or V=Bh. The latter formula is very important because it can be used to find the volume of other types of prisms as well. It is important that students understand that the capital "B" stands for the area of the base of a 3D object and should not be confused with the lowercase "b" that refers to the base of a 2D figure, like a triangle or trapezoid.
This week we will introduce Triangular Prisms and Cylinders.
